PRP for Vaginal Rejuvenation in Vancouver

As many women age, they experience uncomfortable changes and symptoms that impact their intimate areas. This may include both functional and aesthetic concerns such as vaginal laxity, vaginal dryness, urinary incontinence, sexual dysfunction, and more.

At Pacific Plastic Surgery Group, we are proud to offer a minimally invasive solution to these issues known as the O-Shot, or platelet-rich plasma (PRP). PRP injections are placed into the vaginal area to improve uncomfortable signs of aging for a boost in confidence, comfortability, and sexual satisfaction.

What is PRP?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection is a minimally invasive procedure that harnesses growth factors from a patient’s own blood. This is achieved through multiple steps, including:

Step 1:

Blood is drawn from the arm, similar to a regular blood draw.

Step 2:

Blood is placed into a machine called a centrifuge, which separates the blood plasma from the rest of the blood

Step 3:

The concentrated plasma containing growth factors is then injected into the tissue of the vaginal walls to promote healing.

PRP injections stimulate collagen production in the vaginal tissue. In turn, natural functions improve, resulting in increased blood flow and improved overall intimate health.

The PRP for Vaginal Rejuvenation Treatment

The PRP treatment is a multi-step process. To begin, blood will be drawn from the patient’s arm. It will then be placed into a centrifuge, a machine that spins the blood vial, to separate the growth factors from the rest of the blood components. This PRP solution is then injected into the vaginal tissues to promote stem cells and cellular repair and regeneration.

The PRP treatment is performed using local anesthesia to ensure patient comfort. Most patients do not report discomfort during treatment. The length of treatment may vary depending on the individual and their unique concerns.

What Can I Expect After Treatment?

There is no physical downtime required following this treatment, so patients can feel free to return to their regular routines. Sexual activity can be resumed about four hours after their procedure. However, a noticeable increase in sexual satisfaction may be seen after a few days.

Most people will begin to notice results within a few weeks, with full results typically enjoyed after three months. Results are long-lasting and can last up to two years after which repeated treatment is necessary.

O-Shot Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why is PRP also known as the O-Shot?

The vaginal PRP injection is known as the O-Shot because it is designed to enhance women’s sexual experiences, particularly by improving orgasmic response. The name “O-Shot” stands for Orgasm Shot, reflecting its goal of increasing sexual pleasure and sensitivity.

  • What are the benefits of the O-Shot?

The O-Shot offers a variety of benefits for women, primarily aimed at enhancing sexual health and wellness. Here are some of the key benefits:

    • Improved Sexual Sensitivity: The O-Shot can increase sensitivity in the vaginal area, making sexual activity more pleasurable and potentially leading to more intense orgasms.
    • Increased Libido: Many women report a boost in sexual desire and arousal after receiving the O-Shot, helping to improve overall sexual satisfaction.
    • Enhanced Orgasmic Function: The treatment is known to enhance the quality, frequency, and intensity of orgasms, making them easier to achieve for some women.
    • Reduced Pain During Intercourse: For women who experience discomfort or pain during sex, the O-Shot may help alleviate these symptoms, making intimacy more enjoyable.
    • Improved Vaginal Lubrication: The procedure can stimulate natural lubrication, reducing dryness and discomfort during intercourse.
    • Increased Confidence and Sexual Wellness: By improving various aspects of sexual health, the O-Shot can boost self-confidence and overall well-being.
    • Potential Relief from Urinary Incontinence: Some women experience improvement in stress urinary incontinence, as the treatment can help strengthen the pelvic floor muscles.
    • Support for Vaginal Rejuvenation: The O-Shot can contribute to better vaginal tone and elasticity, promoting overall vaginal health.
    • Faster Recovery from Childbirth: Some women find that the O-Shot aids in postpartum recovery by promoting healing and restoring vaginal tissues.
  • Does the O Shot make you tighter?

The O-Shot itself is not specifically focused on making the vaginal area tighter. However, many women report feeling an improvement in vaginal tightness due to increased collagen production and improved tissue health from the PRP injections. This effect can contribute to a more rejuvenated and firmer feeling, but it varies from person to person

  • How long does the treatment take?

You can expect to be in the office for 60 minutes, although the procedure itself only takes 10-15 minutes. This extra time allows for our team to apply numbing cream to the areas to ensure your complete comfort during the treatment.

  • What is the recovery from the O-Shot?

There are not restrictions on your activity after the O-Shot injection, this includes resuming intimate relations the same day.

  • Is the O shot safe?

The O-Shot is considered safe because it uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) derived from the patient’s own blood, minimizing the risk of allergic reactions or complications. However, as with any medical procedure, there can be very minor risks such as infection and bleeding which are extremely rare, or discomfort at the injection site.

  • Can you have more than 1 treatment?

Yes, you can have more than one treatment of the O-Shot, as some women opt for additional sessions to maintain or enhance the results. Typically, treatments can be repeated every 12 to 18 months, depending on individual needs and the advice of a healthcare provider.

  • Is the O-shot worth it?

While results can differ for each person, the benefits of the O-Shot are usually long-lasting. Many patients report experiencing improvements in their sexual wellness within just a few weeks after the procedure.
