PRP for Hair Loss in Vancouver

Reawaken your hair follicles and boost your hair rejuvenation to its max!

The solution to your hair loss can be found within your own body with PRP treatments! The miracle of Platelet Rich Plasma is the answer to stimulating new hair growth, using a natural product within your blood. PRP hair treatment is a non-surgical solution that uses platelet-rich plasma therapy to stimulate hair growth and improve hair density. The growth factors in PRP therapy help rejuvenate hair follicles, promoting hair regrowth for those experiencing thinning or shedding. This natural approach makes PRP hair treatment a popular choice for those seeking an effective way to restore fuller, healthier hair.

Hair loss can be very frustrating and can deeply impact self-confidence, but many of the over-the-counter shampoos and solutions do very little to improve the situation. Whether your hair has thinned out with genetics, aging, a medical condition or after childbirth and breastfeeding, PRP injections may be just the answer to your concerns. This is an easy, non-surgical and minimally-invasive procedure with very little downtime.

About Platelet Rich Plasma (or PRP)

Plasma is a part of your blood that is rich in platelets and has special proteins that both help the blood to clot and, significantly are vital for cell growth and healing. Platelets release small molecules which regulate tissue healing and stimulate the production of collagen. When injected into the scalp PRP stimulates new blood vessels and collagen, as well as nourishing the follicles. These actions combined can result in a significant increase in hair growth.

When carefully injected into areas of thinning or shedding hair on the scalp, PRP works by:

  • Stimulating dormant or weakened hair follicles
  • Increasing blood supply to the scalp
  • Promoting natural hair growth cycles
  • Strengthening existing hair shafts
  • Encouraging the growth of thicker, healthier strands

Why Opt for PRP to Treat Hair Loss?

PRP is completely autologous, which means it originates from your own body, in contrast to drugs or topical treatments. This makes it a great method of treating hair loss and significantly lowers the chance of allergic reactions or other negative effects.

PRP is frequently used by patients because:

  • It is a minimally invasive, non-surgical technique.
  • Most people resume their regular activities the following day, thus there is little to no downtime.
  • It makes use of your body’s own healing mechanisms.
  • It enhances the results of other hair restoration procedures, such as transplant surgery.

When used as part of a prescribed sequence, it can produce results that are long-lasting and natural-looking.

How do you collect the PRP?

PRP is a part of you blood. For us to be able to use this, we start by drawing a small blood sample from your arm. This will be performed by one of our experienced and trained RNs, or one of the physicians. The blood is then spun in a centrifuge for 5 minutes which separates the red blood cells from the plasma. We then draw off the plasma to use for your treatment.

PRP is incredibly versatile and has many different applications:

What to expect from the process

The average PRP hair restoration session lasts between forty-five and sixty minutes. After drawing your blood and preparing the PRP solution, your Provider will use a small needle to properly inject the PRP solution into specific areas of your scalp. In some cases your provider may recommend using the Skinpen Microneedling device to glide the PRP into the scalp. While some patients may experience minor discomfort or sensitivity during the procedure, most describe it as easily tolerable.

Following treatment, you might experience some slight swelling or redness where the injections were made, but this normally goes away in a day or two. PRP is a practical choice for people with busy schedules because there is no downtime required.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

For optimal results, we usually recommend a series of at least three PRP treatments, spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Maintenance sessions every 4–6 months may be recommended to maintain and enhance the results over time. However, the exact treatment plan will be tailored to your hair condition, goals, and how your body responds to the therapy.

Visible improvements in hair texture, thickness, and density are often noticeable within a few months, with full results continuing to develop over the following 6 to 12 months.
